Imagine starting your day with everything ready: your tasks planned, emails drafted, reports waiting etc. I suppose that’s something what the new ChatGPT Tasks can help you with.
What is ChatGPT Tasks?
So what is the main idea… Chat GPT Tasks helps you manage your work by following your prompts. Things like writing emails, making reports or planning social media posts could be done before, but NOW it’s automated and can run on repeat. It just launched yesterday (15.01) and of course I am just testing it.
How can you use ChatGPT Tasks?
To get the most out of ChatGPT Tasks you still need to create clear, specific prompts but now adding new detail – what exactly what ChatGPT should do and WHEN. Like with everything else in AI, the quality of your prompt determines how well the tool works for you. For example you can include project-specific details like metrics, personal preferences, trends or templates to make the results tailored to your needs. The best part – tasks are delivered automatically without you having to follow up.
This tool is perfect for automating routine tasks that need to be done at a specific time. As ChatGPT uses up-to-date information, you can include instructions like: “Summarize this week’s X industry news and use it to draft a weekly report.” It seems like a good way to start your day with ready-made summaries but we will see if this can really help reduce time spent on repetitive work.
What have I learned so far?
Give as much information as possible. The more details you provide, the better results you’ll get. For example, granting access to tools like Zapier can open up more possibilities.
For me, the best use case so far has been creating automated updates or summaries. I tried it with newsletters to get the most important information without reading them through. If I want it to use information from my calendar and to-do list, it’s still a bit tricky for me right now, but I will update you on how effective this can be for the average user. For now it’s a promising “new tool” that can really streamline routine tasks and I’m excited to see how it evolves!
